Character Information

Personality: The stigma that Arrancar are stuck with is that they're evil, but not everyone follows such a thing. Tala isn't good. She isn't evil. She's just lost. Abandoned and rejected by many of her own kind, she has nowhere she fits in. She always feels alone, wandering this already vast desert with less of a chance for camaraderie than the other more brutal Arrancar she runs across. Because of her more gentle nature than her counterparts, Tala wonders how she became an Arrancar in the first place. She knows of the races that make up each realm, but doesn't understand them as much as she should.

Compare Tala to a young wolf cub that has lost it's parents too early in life. Though she knows the basics like how to find food, it doesn't mean that she has the ability to take her prey down. She's not fast enough, strong enough, or determined enough to. Because of her relationship with the other Arrancar, which often ends with her being beaten up, she always feels like someone is watching her. She feels like if she makes a move that shows any sort of certainty or confidence, they'll pop out of the sand and laugh at her attempt. Because of this, Tala always hesitates and can never make decisions.

Tala can be a little naive at times. She's never had a good teacher and anything she has learned up until this point are random things people have said trying to scold her or make fun of her. If she tries something and someone laughs while asking "Why are ya doing that?" she won't do that again, even if she was technically right. Tala is a pretty curious person too, so this makes things difficult. She wants to learn and will often think of doing something new, but the moment she realizes someone else is around or even thinks they might be watching, she throws the idea away and moves on quickly.

When Tala is trying to prove herself, she does her absolute best, which isn't the best. Tala can be clumsy, so she often falls or drops things. She'll trip over her own feet, forget that she didn't tie her shoe, or not see the raised walk way that would require her to lift her feet just a bit more. She's also very gullible and this gets her into trouble. She'll believe anything that someone says if she's trying to show them she wants to help or wants them to like her. Tala is someone that could be blindfolded and left to walk off a cliff because the person told her to keep walking straight until they said stop.

Character Background: Tala died when she was 16 years old while trying to save her brother from a group of Rangers. Her family were powerful humans accused of witchcraft, so these people wanted all of them dead. Tala took a bullet for him when a gun was pointed at her younger brother's back, but even then he wasn't able to get away. Seeing her brother about to be ran down triggered something within her even when she was already dead. Tala hollowfied quicker than most hollow and was able to save her brother by taking out the men that had killed her family and ready to kill him.

When a soul becomes a hollow, a hole forms in their chest. This is their heart and it becomes their mask. For Tala, she only let this take her over for the sake of her brother. She saved him and her goal had been achieved, but something that can be called a miracle happened when this occurred. After she was successful she left. Over a weeks time, her mask fell from her face only to disappear back into the hole it's absence had created. Excluding a red ribbon in her hair that cannot be removed, she was back to normal, but one major thing had changed. Tala had unknowingly become an Arrancar.

For the last one hundred and sixty years, Tala has been nothing but a joke to the other Arrancar. She's small, weak, and gentle, so she doesn't fit in with people like Kurai. She tried sticking with the Espada for quite some time, but they always used her as a maid or table. Yes, a table. She was easy to pick on among them, so the moment she got the chance, Tala left the Espada and began traveling through Hueco Mundo alone. She ended up in the Forest of Menos Grande beneath the sand in hopes of finding someone there that wouldn't hurt her or treat her badly. As usual, she was wrong.

Tala was a perfect opportunity for the hollow. She was weak and too nice. At first, they assumed she must have some sort of hidden power because she was an Arrancar. What Arrancar doesn't have power? None. Tala has power, but is unsure of how to access it. Since she doesn't have a bone along her jaw or some other part of her head, isn't sure what her Mask Fragment is, and doesn't have a hollow hole, Tala thinks that there is something wrong with her. And once the other lower hollow in the Menos Forest realized this, she was fair game. It didn't take long for Tala to decide to run.

Soon, Tala was found by a woman named Lasciel who was interested in Tala's strange characteristics. After quite a few excruciating tests that rendered Tala's body broken for a long time, Lasciel became completely disinterested in Tala, but would not tell her why. Instead, Lasciel tossed Tala into a cell and allowed her guards to use her as a toy. After an incident where Shinigami appeared in Lasciel's lair, yet completely ignored her, Tala was able to get free. She watched the Shinigami and saw they were rescuing someone they cared about. Seeing the Shinigami like that, Tala had a new plan.

Regeneration: Tala's regeneration is actually ridiculously high. It's the one reason this little lady is actually still alive. As if her body is making up for the lack of everything else, her regeneration almost seems enhanced. What would be normal for an Arrancar of her level, skill, and power is no way near as high as hers. +30 to regeneration.
