One week after Yua had moved in, Kei felt... good. She wouldn't admit this to Yua or to anyone, but there was a certain pep in her step. Her loneliness had mostly disappeared. Yua was waiting on her when she got home and told her bye when she left for Division work. And when Kei came home each evening, her apartment wasn't empty. Yua helped clean the place, but the scent of someone else was delightful. Kei was tempted to offer Yua to actually move in. But then thoughts of rejection filled her mind, and the thought was banished.
Kei had been thinking on what to do about Yua's situation, and the situation with Kaminari. She had done research of her own, but most of the records were confidential or required her to sign in to access them. Because Kei was doing this under the table, she couldn't simply state who she was and why she was looking for these documents. One of the documents was Yua's old division's rosters. Kei wanted to double-check this woman's stories. Having no such luck in finding them, Kei knew of one person that would help.
It was one of Kei's days off, and she rose a bit before Yua. Kei enjoyed Yua's clinging for a moment before slipping out of Yua's grasp to nudge her awake. "Good morning," Kei said with a gentle voice. "S-sorry to wake you, but... I think we need to have a talk." Kei slipped out of bed wearing only her red panties and wrapped a robe around herself. She walked into the kitchen and began to make a pot of coffee. She motioned for Yua to sit across from her. "Yua... I've hit a snag when it comes to researching more on the incident you were talking about. If I start going any deeper, they'll know who was looking... But beyond that, we should tell someone else about this. I... have a friend who is almost like a mother to me. She's a former Captain, and I trust her more than anyone else. I'd like to talk to her about this stuff, but... I want to hear what you think first..."
