Character Information
Personality: Solomon is perhaps one of the kindest-looking Captains. He seems approachable, gentle, and a fun guy to be around. He looks to be someone who should be on the cover of Seireitei Communication. The key to all of this is the word 'seem.' Solomon is perhaps one of the people that should be feared most in the Gotei Thirteen. Not because of his power or skill—he's relatively average compared to other Captains. Not because his Bankai is super strong—it's actually not that good in most combat situations. No, it's because Solomon is a psychological nightmare. He can get inside someone's head and make them believe every word he says is true. This is what makes him perfect ofr internal affairs!
Solomon is a nice guy usually though. He might be able to twist people's words and warp their minds, but hey, he's not going to do that to everyone. Solomon is a decent person to hang out with. Although the bar scene is far from his thing, he doesn't mind occasionally going out with friends. One thing he's learned over the years is that people prefer a Captain who is approachable rather than one who isn't. J Saionji has been perhaps the biggest exception to this, something Solomon has many theories on. Solomon has an open doors policy. If his door is open, you can come in and vent to him about anything. He won't share it with anyone, unless he deems it a threat to someone's safety. If his office door is closed, drop off a note (he provides a small card for someone to provide contact information) and he'll get back to that person as soon as he can.
Solomon is a bit of a neat-freak. He keeps himself clean and always smells good. He puts on cologne daily, even if he has no plans of leaving the house. He is also rather fashionable and keeps his clothing pristine. Althoug he is fascinated by Japanese culture and the like, Solomon doesn't wear much in the way of Japanese clothing. This means that although he wears the haori, he refuses to wear a Shihakkushou. Instead, he has petitioned for a 'western' version of the uniform for those that would find it more appropriate or comfortable. He himself acts as the model of this uniform. It's a simple white button-down shirt and black (or at least dark) slacks.
Character Background: Solomon's backstory is relatively boring. He was born in England, raised to be a tailor, and he eventually died of the flu. Yes, overall, Solomon had a boring life. When he had a second chance at life, it was not what he expected. In the Soul Society, Solomon was overwhelmed with foreign culture. He wondered why heaven was populated by monks. He then realized he couldn't understand a word they said. So Solomon was, effectively, shit out of luck. He tried to help out, but was constantly misunderstood. He once was chased off by a small mob because they thought he was going to rob from a store owned by a nice old lady. Solomon couldn't communicate with people. He had to find some way of showing he wasn't a bad man. So, Solomon watched.
Solomon would just watch people, listen to them to try to pick up on the occasional word or two and see how they interacted. He continued to watch until he thought he had a good grasp of how people would interact. And after only a short while of trying to help, the people around him loved him. He was taught by an elderly man who also spoke English on how to speak Japanese. He learned so many different things about the culture of the Soul Society. He was especially fond of the stories on the Gotei Thirteen. After learning enough Japanese to pass the entrance exam, Solomon enrolled into the Shino Academy. He was placed into the Ninth Division, where he was further taught culture and language. He rose through the ranks, eventually becoming a third seat. Before long, he had attained Bankai. Thinking himself to be a good leader, he took the Captain's Profeciency Exam and became the Seventh Division's Captain.
Racial Abilities
Unreleased Abilities: Solomon is about average on strength. He doesn't excel in any particular area, although he is somewhat stronger in Kidō and weaker in hakuda, but it is not much of a difference. Overall, Solomon is about as average as someone who has been Captain for 120 years can be.
Other Weapons: None
Zanpakutō
Zanpakutō Spirit Appearance:
Zanpakutō:
Zanpakutō Release Phrase: Break
Shikai
Shikai Name: Itami no Chikara (痛みの力; lit. Power of Pain)
Shikai Appearance: No change
Shikai Abilities: The main ability of Itami no Chikara is that the more wounded Solomon is, the stronger he gets. This means that the longer you fight Solomon, the stronger he gets. The more wounded he gets, the more his natural stats increase. This can go up to a maximum of of 160. Thus, when he is on his last breath, he will have a 160 in all of his natural stats. There are two other abilities of Itami no Chikara. The first is that Solomon will feel no pain whatsoever while his Shikai is released. The second is that he ignores most detrimental effects related to normal wounds. This means blood loss, tendon damage, broken bones, etc. will not affect him, but he won't magically grow an arm back. Once he seals his Zanpakutō however, the pain and effects will come back. It's not uncommon for him to actually pass out after a long battle.
Bankai
Bankai Name: Reisaijun (靈尽循; lit. Soul Recycling)
Bankai Appearance:
Bankai Abilities: Solomon's Bankai is dangerous in that people get the wrong idea when he stabs them, usually allies. He's regarded as perhaps having the most deceptive Bankai out of all of the non-illusion types. See, Solomon's Bankai is a reversal of death. If he stabs someone and kills them with his Zanpakutō, he has a one-minute window to 'negate' death. Thus if an ally is severely wounded, Solomon would go up and stab them. Once he negates a death, every wound on that person is healed. This does NOT remove poisons or diseases. This means he could save someone by killing them. He says it could make for a great Zanpakutō for the 4th Division, but killing patients is usually not something they want to brag about. Due to its compact nature, Solomon gains a +35 to all natural stats and retains his Shikai abilities. Although, the maximum his Shikai's main ability can reach now is 250.
